Frequently Asked Questions
What is Story Surfaces?
Story Surfaces is a premium porcelain surface brand crafted in Italy, designed specifically for kitchen benchtops, bathrooms, and other interior and exterior surfaces. Renowned for its durability, beauty, and resistance to heat, stains, and scratches, Story Surfaces offers a wide range of colours and finishes to suit any design aesthetic.
How do I clean and maintain my Story Surfaces benchtop?
Cleaning is straightforward with just warm water and a mild detergent or a pH-neutral cleaner. Avoid using abrasive pads or harsh chemicals, as these can dull the surface. For stubborn stains, use a gentle cleaner suitable for porcelain surfaces. Regular cleaning helps maintain the benchtop’s original beauty and durability.
Can Story Surfaces benchtops be used outdoors?
Absolutely. Story Surfaces is UV-resistant and can withstand extreme weather conditions, making it an excellent choice for outdoor kitchens, BBQ areas, and other exterior applications.
Is Story Surfaces environmentally friendly?
Yes, Story Surfaces is committed to sustainability. The porcelain used is made from 100% natural raw materials, and it is free from harmful chemicals, including non-crystalline silica, complying with the latest Australian legislation on material safety. The production process takes place in a state-of-the-art facility powered by green hydrogen, significantly reducing its carbon footprint. The factory operates with strict environmental standards, recycling water and minimizing waste, further enhancing the sustainability of Story Surfaces products.
Can I use Story Surfaces for other applications besides benchtops?
Yes, Story Surfaces is versatile and can be used for a variety of applications, including splashbacks, wall cladding, flooring, bathroom surfaces, furniture, fireplaces, and commercial kitchens. Its durability and aesthetic appeal make it an excellent choice for both residential and commercial projects.
What is the thickness of the material?
Story Surfaces is typically available in a finished thickness of 12mm. Additionally, the material can be mitred to create thicker edges, providing flexibility in design.
What does ‘Full Body Veining’ mean?
Full body veining refers to the full-body nature of the marbled series of Story Surfaces colours, meaning the colour of the vein runs consistently throughout the entire thickness of the slab. This ensures that any cuts, exposed edges, or mitred corners maintain the visual flow of the surface, inspired by the full body beauty of natural stone.
Who can install this material for me?
Story Surfaces should be installed by certified professionals such as fabricators and stone masons who have experience with porcelain materials. Your designer or architect will likely work with their preferred stone mason or fabricator, who will reach out to us directly.
Where can I view a full slab?
