Dreaming | Marbled Brown Jatoba is distinguished by its rich brown hues and intricate veining, reminiscent of the layered earth. Inspired by the Dreamtime stories many of us learned as school children growing up in Australia, this surface reflects the deep layers of these stories that shape how we come to value the natural world. For non-Indigenous Australians, like myself, the Dreamtime stories we were privileged to be introduced to in school left an indelible impression, teaching us reverence. Those layers of understanding remained with me throughout my adulthood. I feel the steady presence of history embedded in this design, inviting us to honor the wisdom and storytelling that taught us to hold a deep respect for these timeless narratives.
